Dnc Dnc – March 2015 / House mixtape by Joryck

Vrwrts won’t be posting about house releases much because with this blog we’ll focus mainly on bands, artists and producers. Not DJ’s and (house)producers. However we don’t want to completely neglect the genre. We’ll post a monthly mixtape with all newly released tracks handpicked by Joryck. This is the first one in the series!

JORYCK: Slowly but surely spring is setting in, jackets are getting thinner and spirits are getting higher. Which seems to be reflected in the releases we’ve seen in the beginning of this year, so many great tracks channeling the sunny vibes. Starting off the mix we dive in to the fresh sounding Free Two Grow by Sam IRL from the same named EP on Jazz & Milk, giving us a burst of sunshine with warm sounds and funky beats. Just as warm and even more relaxed are the sounds of Brasillian Sound taken from HNNY’s newest release Carefree on Pets Recording, the perfect soundtrack for some sun filled chillings. Another great sounding release came from Paxton Fettel, his The Secret Ingredient is Crime EP, released on Apersonal Music, is filled with lush sounds and the Jimpster remix of She’s All Right takes it even a step further.
After some deeper vibes we get back into the sunny side of things, with a Ray Mang remix of El Leon Bailarin, a track by the Venezuelan producer Daniel Grau. His work was rediscovered by Jazzanova & Trujillo, both no strangers to the warm sounds of South America, which they brought together on the compilation The Magic Sounds of Daniel Grau, with new work and older tracks, dating as far back as 1974. Working up toward the release they dropped some great rework EP’s with contributions from Soulclap, Max Graef and Labuzinski to name a few, as well as some interesting short docu’s about the man himself, which you can find here. Keeping the uplifting vibe going we get into some fresh sounding techhouse sounds with Jose Armas and his La Sarita, on the Roush label which releases never seem to disappoint, the Hector Couto remix of Cuartero’s Trouble in Paradise on Moon Harbour and Mineo’s fresh sounding Starts With A Beat on Leftroom.
We round it off with some more deep vibes by the always amazing Iron Curtis the track Care, taken from the the similarly titled EP, takes you on a hypnotizing journey. The same can be said of the closing artist, Project Pablo’s album I Want To Believe, released this february, takes you to some of the outskirts of house, lifting you up with fresh synths sounds, rhythmic bass lines and percussion that go all over place. Other great releases included as well from the likes of Tee Mango, Merrick, Around7, Death on the Balcony and Manjane.
